The Great Resignation continues to play out, as more than 4 million Americans quit their jobs in November. Competitive pay isn’t all it takes to recruit and retain great nonprofit employees—but it’s essential. And inflation has impacted what it takes to make nonprofit salaries competitive.
All nonprofits will need to invest time and effort in 2023 to establish and maintain fair, equitable compensation standards for their teams. Our 2023 Risk Insights forecast, coming soon, will share guidance about how to establish a compensation philosophy, do a pay study, and account for inflation in your compensation. But in order to do those things, you have to understand pay levels in your sector and your market.
