Do you know your nonprofit team members are using artificial intelligence in their work, but not know exactly how they’re using it? Or do you know the extent of your nonprofit’s AI use—and worry about the risks related to AI? Our independent AI Risk Assessment will help you identify and address risks in your nonprofit’s current and future use of AI.
Typically, NRMC will launch the AI Risk Assessment with a kick-off conversation, which can be held virtually or in person. This hour-long conversation establishes the project scope, reviews deliverables, and surfaces your team’s hopes and concerns about AI risk. Often, the client’s core project team takes part in the kick-off conversation, but some kick-offs involve a larger group to build buy-in for the project.
After the kick-off conversation, the project team from NRMC will interview 7-10 key constituents (a sampling that could include staff members, program participants, donors and other interested parties) to learn diverse perspectives on the critical AI risks facing the organization. These no-pressure conversations typically last 45 minutes and require no advance preparation from participants. In addition, our team will request and review documents and materials that provide important information on your nonprofit’s AI risk environment.
After we complete interviews and review materials, NRMC will deliver a memo containing your nonprofit’s critical AI risks, a narrative describing your dynamic risk landscape, commentary on the adequacy of existing AI risk management activities, a suggested framework for surfacing and managing future AI threats and opportunities, and recommendations for mitigating the most critical AI risks. Before we finish an engagement, the NRMC team is available to brief leadership, management, operational, and governing teams on AI risk. These briefings can help as you build support for the priority action steps recommended by NRMC.
An independent AI Risk Assessment increases the confidence of a nonprofit’s staff and community in the organization’s ability to skillfully navigate AI risk.
NRMC’s fee may be higher depending on the project scope.
