Whether you have newly assigned risk responsibilities or are a seasoned risk professional, NRMC acts as an experienced coach to support the design and implementation of risk management initiatives. Our coaching sessions can help address gaps and provide the support you need to evaluate and evolve your nonprofit’s risk management capabilities.
Coaching sessions with NRMC are engaging and collaborative. During our time together, our team will guide you with specific suggestions, ensuring risk-aware thinking is integrated (“baked in”) in planning, operations, and decision-making. We believe the best approach to creating effective risk management practices is rooted in your organization’s culture. We’ll listen to you and make practical recommendations on iterating changes and taking the drudgery and apprehension out of risk conversations with your team.
In the past, our coaching engagements have included activities such as:
We are comfortable providing one-on-one coaching with risk leads or working with small groups assigned risk management responsibility. Through our coaching engagements, we often help clients identify and nurture multiple ‘Risk Champions’ at your nonprofit! ‘Risk Champions’ are staff leaders who have the capability and desire to support and develop the risk function into an agile, sustainable, and inclusive function. Sharing accountability for risk management creates a stronger foundation for risk-aware thinking to become fully integrated into your nonprofit.

“The board and staff of the Prince George’s Child Resource Center are extremely pleased with the results of the risk assessment conducted by the Nonprofit Risk Management Center. A thorough scan revealed that while we are a well run organization, we had risks that we never imagined. We are grateful to know that we have now minimized our organizational risks and we recommend the Center to other nonprofits.”
