Territorial Risk Management Secretary, USA Eastern Territory, The Salvation Army
Alastair has been the Territorial Risk Manager for the Salvation Army’s USA Eastern Territory since 2013, overseeing the risk, safety, insurance, and employee benefit aspects of the Army’s operation in 13 northeastern states. For the last 3 years, he has been heavily involved in moving The Salvation Army’s Eastern Territory’s risk management model from a traditional view of risk to an enterprise-wide framework. Formerly a Salvation Army officer for 23 years, Alastair has been involved in Salvation Army ministry and business his whole working life, leading Salvation Army units in Massachusetts and New Jersey. For 10 years he managed various Salvation Army operations in Russia and Eastern Europe not long after the collapse of the Soviet Union, including three years as the country coordinator for The Salvation Army’s work in the Republic of Georgia. In addition to his risk management responsibilities, Alastair is involved in emergency disaster work with The Salvation Army, both nationally and internationally.
Alastair now lives in Forest, VA with his wife, Anita.
