Ever wished that you were better equipped as a leader to tackle risk and resilience planning in your community? This session will introduce you to some of the fundamentals of individual resilience-building then launch you right into real-world-focused scenario action. Exploring ‘ripped from the headlines’ change events, the session will have participants unpacking the good, the bad and the ugly of high-risk uncertainty and change events. The session will share a variety of tools that participants can take back for use in developing their own skills, as well as leading other individuals who are working with them to do this critical work. Training will include learning how to use flexible thinking exercises; scenario-based learning tools; and planning approaches to overcome leading in the “same old ways” by adopting forward-looking practices that embrace change. This session is designed specifically for leaders who are conducting asset, vulnerability and risk assessment planning in nonprofit organizations.
