In early 2023, I attended a webinar that encouraged nonprofits to approach artificial intelligence with curiosity, rather than fear.

At the time, the explosion of generative AI, which allows users to create text and other media, gave me a feeling of dread. I hadn’t explored the gen AI capabilities that were newly available to the average Internet user. Frankly, I was afraid to.

Taking time to hear experts’ thoughts on the benefits and perils of AI for nonprofits helped launch me on a journey. I’ve spent countless hours over the past year and a half examining how artificial intelligence intersects with NRMC’s work in mission-driven risk management. I’ve formed my personal ethos for navigating AI risk, advised NRMC members and clients on AI risk, and honed my skills at meeting emerging, evolving risks.

At NRMC, we enjoy creating our annual lineup of webinars for affiliate members. We shape the list around the requests and questions we receive from members. We include sessions on classic risk management topics, as well as sessions on emerging or evolving issues. And we always try to include a session that’s less about teaching a specific risk management topic and more about fun, experimentation and play.

Here’s a peek at our lineup of affiliate member webinars in 2025. We hope you’ll include one (or more!) of these on your risk learning agenda next year.
