Deoxyribonucleic acid, or DNA, is “a molecule that contains the biological instructions that make each species unique.” (See www.genome.gov). Did you know that certain information about future health risks is embedded in your DNA? Popular DNA test kits offer the promise of insights we can use to change our habits and lifestyles to improve health and longevity.

What if there were a DNA test for nonprofit organizations that could reveal weaknesses or tendencies that could exacerbate problems when inevitable disruptions occur? The NRMC team’s fascination with science and resilience led us to create a 5-minute quiz to test your nonprofit’s resilience. The test won’t reveal that your nonprofit has hundreds of blood relatives living nearby or your ancestral roots. However, it will uncover opportunities to build muscle and readiness for the next disruption to ‘normal.’

Regardless of your score, remember that readiness is like a muscle that will atrophy and wither without attention and exercise. And like human beings, a single event or new set of circumstances can set your organization back in terms of preparedness. What that means is that a readiness regime is salient advice for all organizations. Take our 5 Minute Readiness Assessment to identify steps and strategies to fortify your mission.
