A regional transit agency with more than 1,200 staff members hired NRMC to provide interim leadership of its risk management function. The assignment included providing on-site and remote support for staff in the department, designing and delivering customer service training, developing a revised job description for the director role, and working with the HR and risk team to recruit and screen a new leader. During this engagement, we also served a coordinating role with respect to numerous vendors to the department, including a Third Party Administrator and outside counsel. We also designed a risk dashboard for the newly formed agency Risk Management Committee, and developed and delivered briefings at several committee meetings. Once the new director of risk management was in place, NRMC was asked to provide support to the HR team. Over the course of six months, we developed and executed a customer service survey and developed an updated exit process for departing employees. Our team also created a series of videos on topics such as “how to apply for a job,” and “history of the agency.” Our work with the HR team included identifying a project management web app and providing project management training to the team.
