Workplace-Safety Committee Tasks

The committee is responsible for:

  • surveying the types of accidents and injuries that took place in the previous three months, six months or 12 months; and disseminating a report throughout the organization that summarizes the survey results by department, program or work area.
  • reviewing the “near miss” reports to determine what areas are posing possible hazards that have not yet resulted in injuries or accidents.
