How Prepared Is Your Organization?
There are many uncertainties that could influence your
organization’s ability to serve and survive. If you’re thinking no
terrorist is ever going to target our community, you’re thinking too
big.
Consider events more likely to occur: loss of power, lack of
access to your building, inoperable vehicles, loss of Internet
connection and e-mail, or the sudden departure of your executive
director or board chair.
If your nonprofit has never had to juggle
furiously because something you count on went awry, count yourself
lucky, but don’t count yourself out of taking this opportunity to
develop a business continuity plan.
