Riverport Insurance Company Joins the Center as a Corporate Sustainer

The Nonprofit Risk Management Center is pleased to announce that Riverport Insurance Company has enrolled as the latest participant in the Center’s Corporate Sustainers Program. Riverport is a member of the W. R. Berkley Corporation group of companies, and has insured nonprofit human services agencies for more than fifteen years. Riverport’s “Nonprofit Protector” and “Human Services” insurance programs are administered by Berkley Risk Administrator’s Company, LLC, another Berkley company with its headquarters in Minneapolis.
The Corporate Sustainers Program aims to strengthen the ongoing dialogue between the Center and leading providers of insurance products to nonprofit organizations. Additionally, the Program provides resources to support the Center’s core technical-assistance capacity geared to make these agencies proficient in risk management, more accountable, and better able to achieve their missions.
An announcement concerning Riverport’s decision to join the program was made by Melanie Herman, executive director of the Center, at the organization’s 10th anniversary Nonprofit Risk Management Institutes, held recently in Washington, DC. Herman noted that “I’m grateful to the leadership at Riverport Insurance Company for their generous support of the Nonprofit Risk Management Center. Riverport has been serving nonprofits for nearly two decades and offers an impressive product line, excellent customer service, and other special services that are valued by nonprofits, including interest free premium financing. Riverport’s experience and commitment to insuring community-based organizations benefits the entire nonprofit sector by ensuring that choices and options are available to nonprofit insurance consumers. We look forward to working closely with senior staff at Riverport and its service provider, Berkley Risk Administrators Company, in the months ahead on a number of projects that will benefit the nonprofit sector.”
Fred A. Mauck, an officer of both Riverport and Berkley Risk, commented, “We are pleased to support the Nonprofit Risk Management Center in its effort to provide insurance and risk management services to the human services community. The mission of both the Center and Riverport is to serve the nonprofit community so our relationship is based on solid footing. We look forward to the opportunity to enhance the Center’s resources so that it can better serve nonprofit organizations.”
Participants in the Corporate Sustainers Program pay an annual fee to the Center. The fee supports the Center’s technical assistance program and covers the cost of corporate sponsorship of the Center’s annual Nonprofit Risk Management Institutes.
