Nonprofits Insurance Alliance Group Signs on as Corporate Sustainer of the Nonprofit Risk Management Center
The Nonprofit Risk Management Center is pleased to announce that the Nonprofits Insurance Alliance Group—with more than 17 years’ experience providing insurance for nonprofit organizations— is the Center’s newest Corporate Sustainer. The Group is composed of the Alliance of Nonprofits for Insurance, Risk Retention Group (ANI-RRG), which provides liability insurance for 501(c)(3) nonprofits in 19 states plus the District of Columbia; and Nonprofits’ Insurance Alliance of California (NIAC), a nonprofit liability risk pool exclusively for 501(c)(3) nonprofits in California; the National Alliance of Nonprofits for Insurance (NANI) a captive reinsurer; and Alliance Member Services (AMS) the management support company. All companies in the Group are themselves 501(c)(3) nonprofits and combined insure more than 7,500 nonprofits.
“NIAC and ANI-RRG have been long-time and loyal supporters of the Center for more than a decade,” says Melanie Lockwood Herman, Executive Director of the Center. “NIAC served as a host of the 2005 (San Francisco), and 2006 (Pasadena) Risk Management and Finance Summit for Nonprofits, and both organizations have hosted numerous regional conferences. In addition, both organizations are long-time customers of our consulting services. We are delighted that the organization has elected to elevate its support to our highest level—Corporate Sustainer status.”
Pamela Davis, President and CEO of the Nonprofits Insurance Alliance Group, a long-time member and past president of the Center’s Board of Directors, says, “Becoming a Corporate Sustainer of the Nonprofit Risk Management Center formalizes the ongoing relationship between the two nonprofit organizations. Our new role simply heightens the value we place on the Center as an educator for loss control and risk management programs.”
Nonprofit Risk Management Center and the Corporate Sustainers Program
The Nonprofit Risk Management Center, established in 1990, provides assistance and resources for community-serving nonprofit organizations. As a nonprofit itself, the Center is uniquely positioned to both understand and respond to questions with practical, affordable suggestions for controlling risks that threaten a nonprofit’s ability to accomplish its mission. Participants in the Corporate Sustainers Program pay an annual fee to the Center, which supports the Center’s technical assistance program and covers the cost of corporate sponsorship of the Center’s annual conference, the 2007 Summit for the Nonprofit Sector (October 24-26, in Winston-Salem, NC). For more information, visit the Center’s Web site, www.nonprofitrisk.org.
