CharityFirst Named Corporate Sustainer of the Nonprofit Risk Management Center

The Nonprofit Risk Management Center is pleased to announce that CharityFirst — the San Francisco-based agency with more than 20 years’ experience providing insurance for nonprofit organizations — is the Center’s newest Corporate Sustainer. The Corporate Sustainers Program aims to strengthen the ongoing dialogue between the Center and the leading providers of insurance products to nonprofit organizations. Additionally, the Program provides resources to support the Center’s core technical-assistance capacity geared to help nonprofit agencies increase their proficiency in risk management and improve their accountability so that they are better able to achieve their missions.
“The enrollment of CharityFirst as a Corporate Sustainer sends a clear signal about the agency’s strong commitment to the mission and work of the Nonprofit Risk Management Center” said Melanie Herman, executive director of the Nonprofit Risk Management Center. “I look forward to exploring ways we can support Charity First’s commitment to providing valuable loss prevention resources to its nonprofit insurance customers.”
“CharityFirst has provided insurance exclusively to nonprofits for the past 20 years,” Herman added. “With more than 5,000 insured organizations, CharityFirst is a clear leader in providing specialized coverage to nonprofits throughout the country. We’re grateful for their support, and we know this partnership will help us continue to deliver the free and low-cost risk management services nonprofits truly need and value.”
Judy Foulkrod, Area Vice President at Charity First, said, “As one of the nation’s largest insurance agencies for nonprofit organizations, we have a strong commitment to helping nonprofits manage risk and improve safety. While most nonprofit organizations are concerned about managing risk, they often don’t have the resources to address risk and safety issues. We partner with organizations like the Nonprofit Risk Management Center as a way to help nonprofits access and utilize the risk management resources and services they need.”
About the Nonprofit Risk Management Center and the Corporate Sustainers Program
The Nonprofit Risk Management Center was established in 1990 to provide assistance and resources for community-serving nonprofit organizations. As a nonprofit itself, the Center is uniquely positioned to both understand and respond to questions with practical, affordable suggestions for controlling risks that threaten a nonprofit’s ability to accomplish its mission. Participants in the Corporate Sustainers Program pay an annual fee to the Center, which supports the Center’s technical assistance program and covers the cost of corporate sponsorship of the Center’s annual Nonprofit Risk Management Institutes.
