How We Help
- We provide free technical assistance by telephone or e-mail to nonprofit staff and volunteers.
- We produce affordable, easy-to-read publications. (Some are free!)
- We offer an interactive risk assessment software program on the Web called Nonprofit CARES (Computer Assisted Risk Evaluation System).
- We publish a Risk Management Essentials newsletter, which is distributed to thousands of nonprofits three times each year. Sign up for your subscription here.
- We design and deliver workshops at events and conferences sponsored by nonprofit organizations, umbrella groups and associations, and insurance providers.
- We sponsor regional conferences on risk management each Spring and hold an annual conference each Fall.
- We offer competitively priced consulting services, including risk assessments.
I just completed a 22 city tour where I presented information on risk management to more than 600 nonprofit leaders. During that training I provide a list of the most valuable websites for nonprofits seeking clear, concise and credible information on risk management and insurance. In my view, www.nonprofitrisk.org. is the Web’s gold standard for risk management information, and even though we find valuable information elsewhere on occasion, it is a fair statement that any other Web site source is a bronze in comparison. I tell workshop attendees that if I was stuck on a desert island and could only bring one Web site with me it would be www.nonprofitrisk.org. Thanks to Melanie and the Center’s staff for helping—not only American nonprofit leaders but leaders around the world (and your cousins to the north)—“stay out of trouble” and fulfill their missions.
